HOW WE BEGAN...
Our band creation did not begin because we were born with music in our lungs. Long story short, we did not want to play any sports, but our parents said we were doing something, and decided we would play an instrument. We each chose our instrument, and our musical journey began. The main reason our parents decided music would be our hobby was that our dad was a minister and needed musicians during revivals. Our mom agreed, and she decided to help begin our adventure. Now, she is our manager. We took keyboard, guitar, and voice lessons for years. This trek of our lives was at the age of seven. Looking back now, we are so grateful that our parents "pushed" us in the musical direction.
Growing up as pastor's kids and loving music, we knew that leading praise and worship would be a calling on us one day. We have been leading praise and worship at our church for many years.
Since we love playing so much, we decided to begin a band. In 2019, we began our duo band and named it Double Portion. Can you guess why? Because we are twins, and it symbolizes the abundance of God. We are branching out more and more. Now, our gig calendar is booked. We are playing at a variety of events and revivals, but we want to do more. With this desire, we decided to try out for the Nashville Honky Tonk School. We made it and are now part of the Nashville circuit. Is this where God wants us? We are not sure, but the door was opened and we walked through. Our next part of our journey will continue to be in God's hands (with a little help from our parents).
